The Penn State Alumni AssociationWhat’s been happening: I have either completed a portfolio of careers, or I've been unable to hold down a job. I survived Hastings law school in San Francisco in the late 60s. In the 70s, I practiced law in a DA's office and as an estate planning practitioner, then taught law courses for the University of Maryland on military bases in Germany, Turkey, and Japan. In the 80s I went into the investment business: first for Dean Witter, then for Santa Barbara Bank and Trust as a portfolio manager. In the 90s I became a planned giving fund raiser for the City of Hope, and then the Director of Training for Financial Network Investment Corp. In the new century, I've been offering Continuing Education classes on investing to CPAs and lawyers around the country. I also work as a private trustee and write - workbooks for my workshops, and a newsletter for a blog: www.financialfoghorn.com. My second book, "Guide to Gold," is there. My advice to my students for the past 5 years has been, "Buy gold, you're gonna need it." Somewhere along the way I got married and divorced, earned a massage license, and did stand up comedy in LA. My future will consist mostly of immigration planning. |
